The installation of the Play Sculptures in the Arndale Centre in Poole soon brought further enquiries. The first being sculptures for a shopping precinct in Aylesbury. The Friars Square Shopping Centre was an open air, pedestrianised area, and for me presented a different challenge. Although my sculptures would be under cover, they would still be subject to changes in temperature and humidity, an environment not at all suitable for highly finished hardwood constructions as at Poole. I therefore proposed Fibreglass as a more appropriate material in this situation.
For Aylesbury the choice of Ducks as a subject could not be avoided and continuing the theme of poultry, I proposed Turkeys. So I designed and made four sculptures - an Aylesbury Duck and Drake, and a Turkeycock and Hen.
