The theme is "glamour" and how illusions of great opulence can be made
against very prosaic backgrounds. In this the work-a-day environment of the
painter's studio is the background in which he is creating an image of
luxury. This springs from my experience of working in film studios. It
also involves a simple self-reference - i.e. an image of the main subject is
included in the total sculpture.
